It was called NaNoWriMo, the condensed title for the National Novel Writing Month that happened every November. Have you heard of it? This world renowned, annual writing challenge was a 20-year non-profit organization. It brought all levels of writers and would-be authors together. The goal? Write 50,000 words in 30 days.
“I loved NaNoWriMo. It was the starting point for the Dark Seeds Series. From “Crows Hill” to the “Edge of Abandon” โ I wrote my way to becoming a published author. This was exciting but done during a time when indie authors weren’t taken seriously. How wonderful that’s not the case anymore!
I was puzzled when I couldn’t find NaNoWriMo. I dug a little deeper and learned it was disbanded, officially dissolved April of this year. Some say it was financial reasons while others blamed AI. I was upset and thought about all the creativity that would go unanswered. Or would it?
