MY STORY

Live, learn, leave a beautiful mark.”

God given – I was born with Epilepsy, a seizure disorder, but it didn’t stop me. Did it slow me down? Yes. It tried to end my life many times. The angel of death was my shadow but I learned how to overcome and become stronger for it. My creative passion grew as I looked for the next great adventure – chasing my inner bunny through life.

I left home after high school. I had lofty college dreams but like most teens, who could afford it? My grades were good but not good enough for scholarships or grants. College was off the table – at least for a time. I had to learn the hard way.

Life isn’t free. Nothing ever is. I know that now. I was young and naive. While I didn’t profess to know everything, I wasn’t realistic either. You never know just how much you don’t know until you stop and start asking the right questions.

First came love. I got married young to an amazing guy. We are proof true love does exist but you have to be patient. You can’t force love or you’ll end up with the wrong person. If you see a red flag or many, run. The right person comes along when and where you least expect it. It must be organic. Not from an app or bot. You’ll miss that spark. It’s a beautiful feeling that’s soul deep you just know it’s true love.

“You’ve been together forty years?” People ask. “What’s your secret?” I tell them our secret in two words, “Love and laugh.” It’s rather cliche but it’s true! “Love is patient, understanding and forgiving. But you’ve got to have a sense of humor.” I smile when I think of all the rich memories me and my husband have made together. “The world is more than ready to kick you. Laughter is your lifeline.” I tell anyone who asks.

Everyone a special someone for them. Someone to catch them when they fall. Someone to love and support them in good times and bad. Mistakes happen. You’ll create amazing memories and you’ll always need hugs. I thank God everyday for my husband and the story of us. A novel for a different day? We’ll see.

Our blessing. From the day he was born to every day thereafter, our son opened a deep place in my heart. Believe me, you’ll never understand God, the Father, until you become a parent. It’s the hardest, most amazing miracle and honor a woman can ever have. A blessing beyond words for a man to hold. Life took on a whole other meaning for us when our son was born. He became our first, our only priority. All our choices stemmed from this simple truth.

Fast forward – I worked and went to school full time. Yes, I finally got to go! I was the oldest student but I didn’t care. I was proud to be there. Getting my AS in Graphic Communications was an amazing day and another pivotal time in my life. At the same time, the public school system was becoming scary for our son. We tried everything until we had no choices left. I made it my mission to give our son the best education and life possible. I home schooled when it wasn’t stylish to do so. Homeschooling has been around for a very long time. Parents realize it now, the destructive model set within the public school system’s core is only indoctrination.

Letting go – it’s something parents must learn to do. It’s not easy. I couldn’t drive. I didn’t get my license because of my seizures. That was a huge problem so I got creative and brought work to me! I worked as an independent contractor for the state, an educator for the charter school system. Sixteen teenagers, son included, showed up every day to our tiny 800 sq foot apartment for classes. They all graduated and went on to build their own stories. I miss them. They’ll always have a special place in my heart for one of the most rewarding times of my life.

Jumping time – I became a Indie Author when self-publishing was considered lesser than. If you didn’t find a publisher to accept your work then you weren’t a writer. I’d like to point out that one of the first self-published authors was back in 1759! Why was that conveniently erased from history? I published my first of four books in a Prophetic Fiction fifteen years ago. I’ll rewrite and finally finish the missing, unwritten fifth novella. They’ll be published as one book in The Dark Seeds novel. A nod to George R. Martin, I understand now. Sorry I was upset you took so long to publish between books. Just like true love, we can’t force the creative process.

Another world – my husband’s military career kept us moving. One of the most extraordinary times was our tour in South Korea. It was an absolutely amazing experience that changed me forever. I worked for The Force One Magazine and had a weekly radio show. We eventually returned to America. I cried and kiss the ground. You don’t know what you take for granted until you no longer have it.

Future dreams – I have many but only one has remained since childhood. I found Linda’s Studio, a place where artists can learn new and exciting ways to create. August 2025, I built CreativeU, a social network community for writers. These are only my stepping stones toward my ultimate goal.

I see it clearly – a place of healing, a school for the arts and sciences. It’s beautiful. Even magical. I want to transform what I’ve started online into something tangible you can visit. A place where the senses come alive. A sacred space in another place and time.

Imagine an enchanted world where water flows like soft sugar over sparkling rocks, draining into peaceful streams and babbling brooks. Walk over fallen trees turned into bridges. Admire waterfall flowers and moss covered branches in woods older than time itself. The elves would come.

Cobblestone paths lined with solar lanterns lead to the most beautiful library in the world. The domed glass ceiling opens up for star watching. The carved wood shelves cradle and protect time worn hardback books. Big comfy chairs encourage research and novel reading. There are beautiful works of art, unique treasures and mysterious artifacts for anyone interested in asking questions. The geniuses spanning generations are showcased here. Their wise words etched in stone… and this is just a taste.

My dream will come true – I have a vision but it needs a foundation. I must find the cornerstone to build it. No doubt, this will take funding. By the Grace of God, I pray to see this dream realized before I’m too old to remember it.

God bless you and those you love. I pray your dreams are realized, and that happiness and true love find you.

🐇 God Bless 🐇
