Card Handmade by Linda Fields
Sacred Space Sunday is my weekly retreat for rest and creative therapy. If I can imagine it, I can create it. If I can create it, I can inspire others. If I can inspire others, I can leave a beautiful mark and that is my daily goal. I had the pleasure of attending a Metallic Watercolor Workshop by Altenew Certified Educator Aditi Mahajan and creating this card.
Imagine
To imagine is like dreaming when you’re awake with precise intent. What do you imagine? What are your dreams? Your goals? Even before we’re born, we’re growing and dreaming. If I can’t visualize, I can’t manifest my intention so it’s important I focus precisely, with great purposeful energy so I can create.
Create
Just as there is only one correct key for opening certain doors, so too are there the right tools for the job. I adore the stamp and die sets by Altenew. I stamped the backdrop image and silver embossed it. On another piece of black paper I repeated this process but I used metallic watercolor paints to add color.
Spray your color with water and let it sit a few minutes before dipping your brush into it. I used beautiful wine and some purple, dabbing the color for each petal. The metallics don’t shimmer well in the photos but in person, it’s amazing how the colors change in the light.
Inspire
It is not enough for me to just create. I must strive to inspire others just as others have inspired me. What purpose is there if we don’t try to help others and see their face light up, feel their hearts fill with joy. It’s truly a gift when a person sparks another to imagine the possibilities and use these stepping stones of creative energy to manifest dreams come true. So I ask again, what is it you dream of doing? Places you want to go? Purpose? I hope my creativity inspires you to leave your own beautiful mark.
