Inspiration Written by Linda Fields
Think back. Remember when you were little? Close your eyes. Remember how you questioned everything? Every kid goes through that “why, why, why” phase. Remember the passion you felt? Everything was new and amazing! When did we grow old? When you’re young, “old” seems out of reach and so distant you laugh it off. But it’s a cruel reality when life slaps us around until we’re too old to remember what we forgot! What did innocent joy even look like? You can find the glimmer you once knew. You don’t have to push what you want aside until the right moment because trust me, that right moment will never happen.
Create the time you need.
There is hope. Take a second to stop and breathe. Too many of us are scrambling to catch up. When there is a moment, we’re either too exhausted, too broken, or too old to remember what it was we wanted. Don’t let regret weigh you down and cloak your hopes and dreams in shadow. There is always the next moment where you can make new choices.

Time is precious – schedule your calendar for it.
There is always more than one way to do something. What’s right for one person may not be the best fit for another. Find what works smarter for you. Treat your life like your personal budget. Delete what you don’t need. Starbucks every morning, monthly subscriptions you don’t need or use, little things can add up and help keep the lights on and food on the table.
Ask the hard questions.
With a pen and paper, put everything you do in a given day down. Reading and writing what you’re thinking will automatically shift your way of thinking. It helps you focus on what’s important. Put down how much time you give each thing. Include everything from the moment you wake up to the time you go to bed. Is any of that time set aside for you? No? That’s a problem. How much time would be enough? How about fifteen minutes? Or an hour!

You can’t help others until you help yourself.
Set boundaries for yourself. Whether it’s turning off the TV and all your other electronics or going to bed a little sooner so you can get up earlier to have that moment of peace. Use your break at work to sit and breath. And when you’ve got your new routine set in place, let others know your boundaries so they respect this new time you’ve scheduled for yourself.
Once you get into this rhythm, you’ll start to realize and see other moments you can take for yourself, your family and friends. Get creative! Plan adventures, games, events or simply yummy dinners. End your day with laughter, wake with gratitude in your heart and you’re life will become one precious moment after another.

Don’t wait for regrets to set in when you can enjoy every moment starting now. Make every one of your dreams come true! Repeat after me, “I know it will happen I just don’t know when… but I’m going to start now.”
