I joined the ranks too and was motivated to publish my first of four books from this great movement. Sadly, NaNoWriMo was officially dissolved in April. I found out when I went to register. It was gone. It seemed only right to start a Novel Quest to ensure this amazing energy stuck around for generations to come.

Common Questions
Question – I don’t know what to write.
Answer – Write that! And write it again and again. If “I don’t know what to write” is all you can think to write then write it! You’ll create a positive, therapeutic habit every time you write! I guarantee once you start this quest, different words, sentences and stories will eventually come out.
Question – What if I can’t write? I don’t know how.
Answer – You’re talking all the time. Put those spoken words to paper! Yes, some people write better than others but this isn’t a race. This is a personal challenge to start a therapeutic, writing habit and join others who are doing the same!
Question – What if I lack the motivation to continue?
Answer – When you become a CreativeU member, you join a social networking community. Create lasting friendships, be part of the cheer squad with fun prompts, inspiration and podcasts.
Question – I can’t afford it.
Answer – CreativeU Tier I membership is FREE! Pay only for the special events, podcasts and “Ask An Author” live streams you choose to attend.
Question – What if I don’t want to write a novel?
Answer – All forms of writing qualify. Free writing, journal writing, non-fiction, fiction, short story, poetry, or news articles. The point is to write. If 50,000 words equals 30 journal entries, you qualify. Whether it’s poems, short stories or your first novel chapter, it all qualifies.
Question – What if I already have a story written but want to rewrite it?
Answer – Perfect! That’s exactly what I’ll be doing. I published four books in a series but I never finished the last book. I’ll be rewriting those books, editing as I go and expanding upon my novellas. Every word counts!
Question – How do I prove I wrote 50k words? Do I get anything for completing?
Answer – Novel Quest is based on the honor system. You are accountable to yourself. You’ll know whether you reached your goal or not. Successful CreativeU members get a Novel Quest certificate just for participating!
